Foreword from Professor Datuk (Dr.) Naim
First of all let me take this opportunity in congratulating the committee members of the China Aid Alumni Association Malaysia (CAAAM) for tirelessly and unwaveringly working towards enhancing better understanding and relations between China and Malaysia.
ABRIDGE is indeed a very constructive and paramount effort in enhancing and distributing information amongst the alumni members and related stakehol- ders. Under the advice and guidance of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia (ECCOM), this magazine has been successful in meeting its objectives.
With about over 400 members, CAAAM will be an efficient and effective forum in responding to the rising international interest and to enhance the rest of the world’s understanding of the Chinese Government’s philosophy and its domestic and foreign policies. Am happy to note that CAAAM had been busy organizing activities. The lecture series with the cooperation of the Malaysia China Friendship in Peninsular Malaysia is a good initiative and should be expanded to Sarawak and Sabah.
The One Belt One Road initiative will not only bring prosperity to China but also along the 21st-century maritime silk route by land and by sea. In the previous edition, I have stressed the importance in order to achieve this goal we will need to share accurate information. We need to build the trust and good neighbourly ties. Trust is the very foundation of both interpersonal and state to state relations. This magazine will play that role and indeed will be one of the building blocks in disseminating the real, true and accurate information in creating and building the trust.
The strong relationship between China and Malaysia will not only prosper both the countries but the region, continent and world as well. We will play the role to make the world a better place.
